Role overview
This opportunity is for a freelance video editor who can help produce polished educational content for dog trainers and handlers. The work spans short promotional edits, social media clips, and longer lecture or workshop recordings. Source material may come from Canon EOS R cameras, DJI drones, iPhones, and organized B-roll.
The position is mainly remote. Candidates located in or close to Manchester may have better chances to collaborate in person as the team expands. The client offers ongoing guidance, training, and feedback, with the possibility of building a long-term working relationship.
What you will do
- Edit and assemble instructional videos, lectures, workshops, and promotional pieces for online and social channels.
- Keep every edit aligned with the established brand look and a professional, engaging tone.
- Add B-roll, graphics, and audio where needed to improve clarity and hold viewer attention.
- Work with the team to review feedback and steadily improve output quality.
- Export and package final files in the formats required for different distribution platforms.
Skills and experience
The ideal editor should be comfortable with standard professional editing tools and have a strong feel for pacing, story flow, and audience retention. Prior work on educational, documentary, or other long-form content is especially valuable. The role also benefits from familiarity with newer editing approaches, including AI-assisted tools. Reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are important.
