Role overview
PepsiCo is a global food and beverage company whose products are consumed more than a billion times every day across more than 200 countries and territories. Its portfolio includes well-known brands such as LAY’S, DORITOS, CHEETOS, GATORADE, PEPSI and QUAKER, along with other popular products that together generate significant annual retail sales.
The company’s long-term direction is centered on PepsiCo Positive (pep+), a transformation agenda that places sustainability and people at the core of growth. PepsiCo also emphasizes a diverse, collaborative and inclusive workplace where employees are encouraged to contribute ideas and grow together. The organization promotes a culture of teamwork, innovation and continuous improvement.
This role is based in Mecca, Makkah, Saudi Arabia and is part of the KSA sales team.
Purpose of the role
The Preseller is responsible for driving sales volume, reducing stales, meeting distribution goals, applying approved merchandising standards, collecting receivables and ensuring strong customer service. The position also involves sharing timely market intelligence with the supervisor to help identify sales opportunities. Ongoing training and a daily debrief with the supervisor are part of the role.
Key responsibilities
The Preseller manages customer sales activity across an agreed route and is expected to follow company operating procedures to maintain consistent standards across KSA.
Day-to-day duties include selling the complete product range to assigned customers, working toward agreed sales targets and keeping stales below the set threshold. Customer visits must follow the approved call frequency and route plan so service levels remain high. The supervisor reviews the actual customer visits during daily debrief sessions.
The role also covers vehicle care and compliance, including daily and weekly checks, keeping the sales vehicle clean and roadworthy, and reporting any defects or damage as early as possible. The Preseller must ensure customer orders are supplied on time with complete delivery details, maintain the right stock levels at customer outlets to avoid shortages, and implement the agreed in-store merchandising plan. Where a merchandiser supports the outlet, arrangements must be coordinated with the supervisor.
Additional duties include notifying the supervisor about competitor activity in the territory, reconciling cheque, cash and credit sales every day, maintaining a neat and professional appearance, and driving safely while following all traffic and driving rules. Performance is tracked through KPIs, and repeated failure to meet expectations may result in disciplinary action.
Qualifications and experience
Candidates should hold a diploma, bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification. The role requires 1 to 3 years of experience in sales and account building, along with strong communication, negotiation, conflict management, sales planning and basic accounting skills.
Working expectations
The job requires consistent field activity, strict adherence to route planning and operating procedures, regular reporting to the supervisor, and readiness to complete training programs aimed at improving professionalism and customer service.
Additional notes
The original posting also references company culture, sustainability focus, and performance management through KPIs. Any employee who does not consistently deliver the expected results may be subject to disciplinary action.
