Piping Engineer

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a skilled Piping Engineer to join their team in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This full-time, onsite position requires expertise in piping design and related deliverables, adhering to international and Indian standards. The role involves comprehensive review of various piping documents, vendor coordination, and ensuring seamless project execution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage piping isometric drawings and associated project deliverables.
• Ensure all piping designs comply with ASME, AWWA, and IS standards.
• Accurately prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs) for piping, valves, and specialty items.
• Apply strong knowledge of plant layout, general arrangement drawings, tank nozzle orientation, piping layout, and pipe support design.
• Utilize 3D modeling environments effectively for design and review processes.
• Conduct thorough reviews of piping arrangement drawings, isometric drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), support drawings, and fabrication drawings for pipe spools.
• Perform interface checks to ensure integration with other disciplines.
• Evaluate vendor designs and drawings, managing the follow-up for timely delivery of required documentation.
• Demonstrate understanding of P&IDs and generate MTOs for hydrotesting.
• Engage in correspondence and resolve issues with vendors.

Requirements

• Proficiency in working with piping isometrics and related deliverables.
• In-depth knowledge of ASME, AWWA, and IS standards.
• Experience in generating MTOs for Piping, Valves, and Specialties.
• Solid understanding of Plant Layout, General Arrangement drawings, Tank Nozzle orientation, Piping Layout, and Pipe Supports.
• Proven experience with 3D modeling environments.
• Ability to review various piping documents including arrangement drawings, isometric drawings, BOQ, support drawings, and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with interface checking.
• Capability to review vendor designs and drawings and manage follow-ups.
• Knowledge of P&ID and generating hydrotest MTOs.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks.

Additional Information

This role is based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and requires the engineer to be physically present at the worksite.
