Role overview
World Vision New Zealand is looking for an experienced relationship-focused professional to help expand its major donor community. This role suits someone who enjoys building trust, shaping partnerships, and creating real-world impact for vulnerable children.
In this position, you will strengthen philanthropic support across New Zealand by drawing on your networks, developing new connections, and designing meaningful engagement opportunities that bring supporters closer to the organisation’s mission.
You will be part of a mission-led team committed to creating lasting change for children and families facing some of the toughest conditions in the world.
What you will do
- Manage a portfolio of high-value donor relationships with a personalised stewardship approach that encourages major giving.
- Travel to meet supporters where they are, join international field visits to World Vision programmes, and help create special New Zealand-based experiences that deepen commitment.
- Create tailored donor plans that align fundraising goals with authentic, trust-based partnership building.
- Help shape storytelling that clearly shows donors how their support is changing lives and improving outcomes for children.
- Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to turn warm introductions and existing networks into new philanthropic relationships.
- Keep accurate records in the CRM, use structured moves management to guide the pipeline, and report clearly on progress against agreed targets.

Location and working pattern
The role is based in Penrose, Auckland. It is a permanent full-time position of 37.5 hours per week with a hybrid working model.

World Vision is seeking someone who can bring strong relationship-building capability, commercial awareness, and a genuine commitment to helping vulnerable children.
Eligibility and other conditions
Applicants must already have the legal right to work in New Zealand. The role may require flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, along with domestic and international travel.
