Role Overview

We are looking for a driven Personal Lines Handler to join a well-established insurance brokerage in Donegal Town. In this position, you will work directly with individual customers to deliver insurance options that match their needs while helping maintain high service standards.

This is a hybrid opportunity with one day per week required onsite. Candidates interested in part-time hours will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a portfolio of personal lines customers, with a strong focus on keeping clients satisfied and retained.
  • Manage day-to-day insurance administration, including renewals, comparing quotations, and issuing policy documents on time.
  • Respond to customer queries, support mid-term policy changes, and explain the claims process where needed.
  • Collect and organise information required by underwriters so risks can be placed efficiently.
  • Keep records and files accurate and up to date in line with company procedures and regulatory obligations.
  • Monitor updates in personal insurance products and market developments that may impact clients.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth service delivery and provide support whenever needed.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Prior experience handling personal lines insurance, with motor insurance experience preferred.
  • APA/CIP qualification, or progress toward one of these qualifications.
  • Good knowledge of personal lines products such as Home, Motor, and Travel insurance.
  • Strong attention to detail together with solid organisational ability.
  • Awareness of the Irish regulatory environment for personal insurance.
  • Comfort using insurance software and related systems; previous systems experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a clear focus on customer service.
