Role overview
The Packer will prepare bulk and export pallets according to pallet layouts and customer requirements, while following Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Quality Food Safety (QFS) standards.
Key responsibilities
- Apply the correct carton identification details, including best-before dates, SAP codes, product descriptions, date codes, and barcodes.
- Load products onto pallets in line with picking instructions.
- Label and identify pallets according to the relevant product codes and descriptions.
- Check cartons for any damage, including cartons that have been opened.
- Select the appropriate pallets and pallet setup for different customers.
- Arrange cartons in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Keep the work area clean and orderly based on the required housekeeping schedule.
- Meet production and output goals while maintaining the required quality level.
- Follow all EHS and QFS requirements at all times.
- Carry out additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications
A matric certificate or an equivalent qualification is required. Experience in the fruit business will be an advantage.
