Job Overview
This role sits within the Operations department and is responsible for overseeing the company’s end-to-end day-to-day execution, including fulfillment, delivery, collections, and operational customer service. The position is permanent and suited to a mid-level professional with strong hands-on experience leading logistics or delivery operations in Qatar.
The job requires a structured and disciplined approach to running scheduled delivery operations rather than instant delivery, unless there is a defined exception. Delivery windows must be respected, central communication rules must be followed, and service targets must be consistently achieved.
Core Purpose
The main objective is to lead all operational activities efficiently, improve service quality and speed, control costs, and strengthen the experience of customers and business partners while strictly following the company’s approved operating procedures.
Operational Policies and Performance Standards
- The business works on a scheduled-delivery model, not immediate delivery unless specific controls allow it.
- Deliveries must stay within the assigned time windows of 12:00–4:00 and 6:00–11:00 unless coordinated otherwise.
- Centralized communication rules must be observed; drivers are not allowed to contact customers randomly.
- The operation must target 99% successful completion and 95% on-time adherence.
- Order pickup should be coordinated within 10 minutes and aligned with the customer as required.
Responsibilities
Lead daily operations across order receipt, delivery execution, service coordination, and fulfillment workflows. Monitor service levels, resolve delays and bottlenecks quickly, and continuously improve operating methods.
Oversee fleet and driver activity, including dispatch planning, driver discipline, GPS monitoring, route improvement, vehicle maintenance follow-up, compliance tracking, and fleet expansion or reduction decisions. Support hiring, evaluation, and training of drivers, and ensure company assets are protected.
Manage order processing within ERP systems, coordinate with merchants and customers through the formal communication channel, handle exchanges and returns, open customer accounts, and train users on the systems in use. Apply geographic route optimization to improve delivery grouping and efficiency.
Supervise cash-on-delivery collections, verify settlement accuracy against finance records, prevent differences and errors, and ensure deposits are made immediately without delay.
Act as the primary contact point for B2B customers and merchants, attend operational meetings, resolve major complaints, and recommend improvements based on data. Maintain a response time of no more than 10 minutes.
Approve routine maintenance plans, follow up on urgent breakdowns, monitor tracking and operating tools, and coordinate with service providers when needed.
Prepare regular reports for senior management, analyze operational data, track costs, identify efficiency opportunities, and present strategic recommendations. Review KPIs on a daily basis.
Develop and update SOPs, ensure quality and safety compliance, reduce operational errors, manage operational risks, preserve the company’s identity and standards, and apply failure-delivery and exception-handling procedures.
Authority
- Make daily operational decisions.
- Approve schedules and operational plans.
- Recommend hiring or termination decisions.
- Pause or adjust operations when necessary.
- Take charge of operations during emergencies or in the absence of the Operations Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a closely related field.
- Equivalent alternatives such as open-education certificates, training certificates, or relevant field experience certificates are also accepted.
- 4 to 6 years of experience in operations or logistics.
- 3 to 5 years of Qatar-based experience is specifically preferred for this role.
- Background in fulfillment or last-mile delivery.
- Strong command of ERP platforms, tracking systems, and fleet management tools.
- Advanced analytical ability, especially with Excel and Power BI.
- Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent planning, coordination, and team management skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to solve problems quickly.
- Comfort working within a strict, highly structured operational environment.
- Arabic and English language ability is required.
- Only Arabic nationals may apply, as the role serves Arabic-speaking customers and consumers only.
