Role Overview

This position is for a Manager in Inventory Management within the Global Supply Chain function, based in Mumbai. The role is centered on keeping inventory accurate, visible, and aligned with production needs while supporting efficient supply chain operations across plants.

  • Track plant inventory health and maintain precise, up-to-date stock visibility.
  • Plan materials effectively so availability matches production demand.
  • Manage batch-level inventory traceability and shelf-life monitoring.
  • Spot and reduce risks linked to excess inventory, expiry, and stock shortages.
  • Fine-tune safety stock, reorder points, and lead times for raw materials, packaging materials, and work-in-progress inventory.
  • Work to improve inventory turns without affecting agreed service levels.
  • Lead structured actions to bring down slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
  • Maintain strong discipline in SAP/ERP transactions and ensure data remains accurate.
  • Prepare, check, and interpret MIS reports to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to digital initiatives such as automation, analytics, and dashboard creation.
  • Keep master data clean and reduce unnecessary manual work to improve system hygiene.
  • Follow internal controls and strengthen end-to-end inventory governance across plants.
  • Partner with Production, Procurement, Quality, and Supply Planning teams on a regular basis.
  • Align inventory levels with production schedules and procurement plans to prevent disruptions.
  • Help resolve issues involving material shortages and inventory mismatches.

Travel

This role requires travel of approximately 3 to 5 days in a quarter.
