Role Summary
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for leading core HR functions, including hiring, onboarding, policy administration, compliance, and employee relations. Working in close partnership with leadership, this role helps shape workforce strategies, strengthen engagement, support a healthy workplace environment, and ensure the team is aligned with the organization’s broader mission and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee recruitment and onboarding activities to support effective hiring and new-employee integration.
- Maintain HR policies and update them as needed to reflect current practices and legal requirements.
- Ensure adherence to applicable local, state, and federal employment regulations.
- Handle employee relations matters and help resolve workplace concerns constructively.
- Contribute to initiatives that improve employee engagement and support a positive culture.
- Work with leadership on organizational development and workforce planning efforts.
- Support the use of HR systems for employee records, data management, and related processes.
Qualifications
- Solid experience with recruitment, onboarding, and talent acquisition workflows.
- Background in creating and applying HR policies while maintaining compliance.
- Strong capability in employee relations, conflict handling, and workplace culture building.
- Understanding of performance management, workforce planning, and organizational development.
- Clear communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
- Comfort using HR software and systems to manage employee information.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR is considered an advantage.
- Prior experience in the nonprofit sector is highly preferred.
