About the Role
Peach Cars KE is seeking a detail-oriented and physically active Fleet Associate to join their team in Nairobi. This role is crucial for overseeing all aspects of vehicle management, including maintenance, movement, inspections, usage tracking, and cost control. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, a meticulous approach to daily vehicle operations, and a keen interest in the automotive sector. You will ensure strict adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the safety, orderliness, and compliance of all vehicles on the Peach lot according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct routine lot inspections to confirm vehicles are properly positioned, secured, and presentable.
- Perform thorough check-ins for arriving vehicles, meticulously recording details such as condition, mileage, fuel level, and any existing damage.
- Operate and reposition vehicles between branches or within the lot as directed by the Fleet Manager, ensuring all movements are logged and authorized.
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance for all vehicles, ensuring timely checks and accurate record updates.
- Promptly identify and report any vehicles requiring immediate, unscheduled attention.
- Facilitate vehicle handovers to customers, staff, or other branches, strictly following handover protocols and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Maintain secure custody of KD and KG dealer number plates, tracking their issuance and return with full accountability.
- Safeguard all vehicle keys, ensuring they are tagged, correctly stored, and traceable.
- Record all key issuances and returns meticulously in the designated management register.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Possession of a current, valid Kenyan driving license.
- A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, particularly Google Sheets for logging and tracking.
- Ability to capture and maintain accurate records during vehicle check-ins, handovers, and administrative tasks.
- Comfort in performing physical tasks such as vehicle movement, site inspections, and hands-on operations.
- Proven ability to adhere to SOPs, meet deadlines, and take responsibility for assigned duties.
- Effective collaboration within a team environment and proactive communication with supervisors.
