Role Summary
The Fire Alarm Engineer will contribute fire protection engineering expertise across projects in Al Khobar, including fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, and broader fire protection strategies. The role is suited to someone who enjoys a dynamic environment and wants to develop further within a collaborative and diverse team. Although based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, the position also carries responsibilities for projects across the Middle East.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning and execution for design work on assigned projects.
- Develop fire alarm and mass notification system designs.
- Carry out design, installation support, commissioning, on-site testing, and inspection of systems such as fire alarms and fire suppression solutions including FM 200, foam, and wet systems.
- Draft technical reports, specifications, design drawings, and presentation materials.
- Guide and work closely with local team members.
- Assess design and construction submissions to confirm alignment with applicable regulations.
- Conduct site inspections to review building features and systems, including emergency lighting and exit signage.
- Work with authorities having jurisdiction and participate in client meetings.
- Communicate clearly with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in code consulting and/or fire protection system design, with direct exposure to fire alarm design and mass notification systems.
- An engineering background in Electrical or Electronics is preferred.
- Strong willingness to work across all aspects of fire protection engineering, including alarms, suppression systems, and protection strategies.
- Ability to prepare technical reports, specifications, design drawings, and presentations.
- Ability to review design and construction submittals for compliance with regulations.
- Capability to perform site surveys and evaluate building systems and features.
- Comfort working with multiple stakeholders and handling several projects simultaneously across the Middle East.
