Financial Controller

Role overview

This position serves as the property’s lead finance partner, responsible for shaping and driving financial strategy across the hotel. It supports the delivery of brand standards and business goals by translating financial insight into practical decisions that improve performance, protect assets, and strengthen returns. The role also focuses on building a business plan that aligns with the property and brand strategy while overseeing accounting and finance execution to achieve strong financial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

The Financial Controller will analyze financial and market information, prepare forecasts and budget plans, track actual performance against projections, and identify opportunities to improve profitability. The role includes strengthening accounting controls, managing business risk, and ensuring proper safeguarding of assets. It also involves leading finance teams, communicating priorities clearly, holding staff accountable, and supporting strong decision-making at both operational and leadership levels.

In addition, the role is responsible for accurate profit and loss reporting, timely submission of reports, review and correction of audit findings where needed, and close monitoring of taxes, internal controls, and compliance with both company and local operating procedures. The position will also advise senior leadership on financial matters, participate in owner discussions, and help manage issues that affect business performance and stakeholder expectations.

People leadership

This role requires guiding and developing the accounting team, ensuring cross-training for smooth daily operations, administering property policies consistently, onboarding new hires effectively, and creating development plans that match individual strengths, growth needs, and career goals.

Candidate profile

A relevant 4-year bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or a related discipline is required, along with at least 2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a similar professional field. A master’s degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major is also acceptable, and no prior work experience is required in that case.
