Role overview
This position is focused on carrying out operations and maintenance activities for plant equipment and facilities so that the unit runs safely and smoothly and production targets are achieved while keeping safety and quality standards intact.
Key responsibilities
- Follow all applicable policies, procedures, standard operating instructions and shift-wise directions so work is performed in a controlled and consistent way.
- Stay updated on better practices and new trends, and help improve systems, methods and procedures.
- Check equipment health using look, listen and feel observations, and identify or report any performance issues.
- Monitor field equipment as per SOPs, SOCs and checklists, and maintain the condition of HSE-related equipment along with the required check sheets.
- Support the shift superintendent in tracking process parameters and coordinate with maintenance teams to close CP-related issues promptly.
- Carry out equipment handover and takeover with maintenance teams while following PTW/LOTO rules and workplace safety systems.
- Collect field samples for laboratory testing and conduct gas testing such as LEL and O2 measurements with portable instruments.
- Maintain accurate shift logs and document site operations in a consistent format; also manage logbooks, forms, spare parts and consumables.
- Maintain housekeeping standards by managing hazardous materials, segregating and reducing waste, and keeping fire and safety equipment in good condition.
- Respond first to field emergencies and support the Auxiliary Fire Squad when needed.
- Understand rotary machine seal systems, including the importance of seal pot level and pressure.
- Understand compressor lubrication systems and the significance of temperature, pressure and flow in the system.
- Check the status of LO/LC valves.
- Be familiar with the locations of various field instruments.
- Support risk assessments during shift handovers, takeovers and process jobs, and conduct toolbox talks before work starts.
- Perform process-related tasks within safe operating limits to reduce failures, incidents and injuries.
- Record and report near-miss events so trends can be identified and similar incidents prevented.
- Follow the latest guidelines and systems such as IMS, ISO, TQM, OMS, PSM, QCC and 5S.
- Comply with safety procedures for LOTO, nitrogen gas handling and line-breaking activities.
Education
A diploma in Chemical Engineering is required.
Experience
Up to 3 years of experience as a field executive in site operations is required.

Additional information
This role is expected to contribute to any other duties assigned by senior authority as needed. The job is based in Bharuch, Gujarat, India and is a full-time onsite position.
