EHS Engineer - Saidongar

Role OverviewThis position is for an EHS Engineer supporting construction projects in Mumbai. The role focuses on building and maintaining a strong environment, health and safety framework aligned with major management system standards, while also driving day-to-day site safety and compliance.Key DutiesSet up, review, track, and coordinate an enhanced integrated EHS management system for project operations, aligned with ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001 requirements.Improve procedure manuals and support internal audits against the applicable standards.Plan and deliver EHS training sessions for site engineers and workers, as well as sessions arranged through HR.Identify hazards and assess risks for critical activities, then ensure the method statements reflect those findings.Prepare the EHS Plan and the Environment Management Plan.Coordinate external EHS audits and third-party inspections of equipment.Develop the Emergency Preparedness Plan and conduct emergency drills.Support implementation of the work permit system at site.Coordinate occupational health and welfare measures.Draft EHS-related conditions for subcontractor contracts.Intervene immediately when unsafe practices are observed and actively promote a proactive safety culture.Carry out monthly project risk management audits and quarterly system audits.Submit EHS status reports to the Project Head and IC Head, highlighting current performance and compliance.Additional InformationThe role involves continuous monitoring of site safety performance and active participation in improving project-wide EHS standards. It also requires close coordination with project leadership, contractors, and audit/inspection teams.Standards and Compliance FocusThe position is centered on maintaining compliance with integrated management system requirements, especially those linked to occupational health and safety, environmental management, and quality management standards.
