Role Overview
This part-time deli position is focused on preparing fresh hot and cold deli items to a high standard while putting customer satisfaction first.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare a range of customer orders across the fresh food areas, including sandwiches, rolls, hot food portions, and sliced meats, while following store portion guidelines.
- Cook, set up, and present food items throughout the day so they remain ready for customers.
- Keep deli and fresh food counters looking clean, well-stocked, and to a consistently high presentation standard.
- Support customers by answering questions efficiently, professionally, and in line with store procedures.
- Share product knowledge, food suggestions, recipes, and personal recommendations to help encourage customer interest in the range.
- Work in a way that reflects the company’s values of being proud, energetic, imaginative, and community-focused.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous customer service experience would be helpful, though it is not essential.
- Good verbal communication skills are important.
- HACCP training is an advantage, but it is not a requirement.
- You should be comfortable working collaboratively in a busy, fast-moving setting.
- Strong multitasking ability and the confidence to stay effective under pressure are needed.
- A genuine interest in food and the ability to inspire shoppers will be valuable.
