Role Summary

This role supports analytics and information needs across Mercedes-Benz Financial Services by working closely with business users, translating business goals into BI and analytics requirements, building reporting and visualization solutions, and helping maintain the data management environment. The position also provides advanced technical support and helps ensure technical documentation and metadata are properly maintained for the data domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Turn business requests into analytics solutions by gathering requirements, documenting needs, and developing dashboards, reports, visualizations, and other BI outputs for internal stakeholders.
• Provide advanced support for SQL, visualization tools, and end-user computing applications used by internal teams.
• Partner with business, IT, and data governance stakeholders to improve the analytics environment and close data gaps.
• Write business requirements, update data mart specifications, and assess the impact of projects on the data warehouse and BI landscape.
• Collaborate with IT to convert business requirements into technical specifications for supported system solutions.
• Support EPM and Business Intelligence projects, monitor schedules, flag risks, and recommend workarounds to keep BI solutions running smoothly.
• Build and maintain curated data sets for advanced analytics use cases.
• Maintain reports, extracts, and other BI assets while helping troubleshoot issues, review tool usage, tune performance, and support audit/compliance needs.

Qualifications and Experience

• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.
• Relocation support is not available for this position.
• A minimum of 1 year of overall work experience is required.
• Preferred background includes 1 year each in business/general functions, information technology, and strategy.
• A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred.
• Suggested majors include Accounting and Business Administration.
• At least 1 year of experience in SQL, including advanced functions and statement types, is required.
• At least 1 year of experience with BI tools is required.
• Experience in data warehousing and ETL is preferred.
• Candidates must be prepared for a technical screening covering Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, and SQL.

Additional Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of programming and testing practices is required.
• Ability to gather, validate, and interpret requirements with internal/external customers and IT teams is required.
• Preferred familiarity with data warehouse environments, RDMS platforms, and star schema data marts.
• Preferred understanding of SQL indexing and partitioning.
• Preferred experience in data, data analytics, and data management roles or projects.
• Ability to translate technical details into business language and business needs into technical terms is preferred.
• Strong documentation skills, including the ability to maintain technical design documents and metadata, are preferred.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Access, Excel, and the broader Microsoft Office suite is preferred.
• Ability to present findings and visualizations to managers and team leaders is preferred.
• Preferred skill in diagnosing reporting logic and load process issues and recommending fixes.
• Preferred experience with data preparation, data warehousing, dimensional modeling, Agile/Scrum, and Jira.
