Role overview

ESS, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, is hiring a full-time Cleaner for its Defence cleaning and facilities operation in Exmouth. The position is contracted at 37.5 hours each week and runs for 49.2 weeks per year. This role is suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining safe, spotless, and welcoming spaces for clients and customers.

What you will do

• Work with the cleaning and facilities team to keep the site clean, safe, and hygienic.
• Carry out dusting, sweeping, polishing, mopping, and vacuuming to a consistently high standard.
• Make sure floors, windows, surfaces, and other frequently touched areas are cleaned and sanitised regularly.
• Handle extra cleaning tasks when needed, including dealing with spillages promptly and effectively.
• Remove waste from bins and dispose of it correctly.
• Check cleaning stock levels and replenish supplies when required.

What the employer is looking for

The ideal candidate will be well organised, pay close attention to detail, and be comfortable with practical, hands-on work. Previous cleaning experience in a similar position is welcome but not essential. A flexible attitude toward work is important.
