Caretaker

About the Role

Derbyshire County Council is seeking to appoint a dedicated Caretaker to join the Facilities Management Team at Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School. This is a physically demanding role requiring a proactive and adaptable individual to provide essential site maintenance and support. The school is a popular institution with a large student body, located conveniently near Sheffield and Chesterfield, bordering the Peak District National Park.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a range of site maintenance tasks to ensure the school facilities are kept in excellent condition.
• Provide efficient and effective support to the Facilities Management Team.
• Be prepared to cover for colleagues during absences, demonstrating flexibility.
• Participate in a rotating shift pattern covering early mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
• Undertake weekend lettings duties as part of a rotation.

Requirements

• A positive, 'can-do' attitude and a willingness to exceed expectations.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
• Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern, including early starts, late finishes, and weekends.
• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
