The job provides substantial exposure to ERP-based planning, KPI monitoring, and continuous improvement methods. It is well suited to someone who enjoys structured planning responsibilities along with hands-on problem-solving in a manufacturing setting.
Key accountabilities
- Issue purchase orders using e-Kanban inputs, forecast data, and business demand requirements, with supervision as needed.
- Release production work orders using planning information from remote and multi-site operations.
- Work with internal and external contacts to fine-tune procurement settings based on lead times, shelf-life limits, and changes in demand.
- Take part in daily KPI meetings and share updates on assigned tasks and operational results.
- Support continuous improvement efforts, including Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping, and structured problem-solving activities.
- Assist with physical inventory activities and follow safety, quality, and compliance expectations.
- Maintain planning activity and supply chain records in ERP systems.
Requirements
This role calls for a solid base in supply chain operations, planning tools, and data-based decision-making, plus the ability to function well in a disciplined manufacturing environment.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or a high school diploma paired with at least 2 years of experience in planning, purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing support.
- Practical experience with ERP platforms such as Oracle, SAP, or similar systems.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability, with careful attention to detail and accuracy.
- Working knowledge of MRP, CRP, MPS, purchase order handling, and inventory control processes.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Exposure to lean practices such as Kanban, Kaizen, and value stream mapping is preferred.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams while adapting to shifting priorities.
Benefits
- Competitive pay aligned with experience and location.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) plan with company matching contributions.
- Annual bonus opportunity tied to performance.
- Paid time off plus company holidays.
- Training and professional development on the job.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs.
- A collaborative workplace with strong attention to safety and quality.
