Role Overview

MissionStaff is looking for a driven Business Development Representative to spark new client conversations and grow relationships across technology, marketing, creative, and business services. This position is suited to someone who brings energy, structure, persistence, and strong communication skills, along with the ability to tell a compelling business story that earns trust and interest.

The right person will enjoy outbound prospecting, be comfortable starting conversations from scratch, and understand that success in business development comes from preparation, consistency, and follow-through. We are seeking someone who is naturally curious, resilient, analytical, and highly organized, with the ability to connect business problems to hiring solutions.

In this role, you will help create qualified sales conversations and support pipeline growth through targeted outreach, research, and relationship-building. You will report to the Chief Revenue Officer and have the chance to grow within a consultative, relationship-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reach out through phone, email, and LinkedIn to connect with hiring leaders and decision-makers and create qualified opportunities.
  • Study target accounts, hiring patterns, and market activity to tailor outreach and uncover potential needs.
  • Use persuasive, consultative messaging and clear storytelling to capture attention and establish credibility.
  • Lead discovery discussions to learn more about hiring pain points and business needs.
  • Keep CRM records current with outreach activity, notes, and pipeline progress.
  • Manage follow-up consistently and keep prospecting activity well organized.
  • Monitor performance measures such as calls made, conversations held, and meetings scheduled.
  • Stay up to date on hiring trends, workforce issues, and changes in the market.
  • Keep improving outreach methods, communication style, and overall business development approach.
  • Build strong knowledge of MissionStaff’s services, differentiators, and success stories.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in B2B cold calling, outbound sales, or business development, with evidence of meeting activity and performance targets.
  • Strong communication and storytelling ability, with the confidence to lead engaging, business-oriented conversations.
  • Ability to link hiring challenges, market insight, and business impact into compelling outreach discussions.
  • Comfort working daily in a proactive outbound business development role.
  • Strong discipline, organization, and follow-through in managing prospecting cadence and pipeline activity.
  • Ability to balance a high volume of outreach with personalized, well-researched messaging.
  • Strong work ethic, persistence, and resilience in an outbound sales environment.
  • Coachable mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to keep improving.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
