Role overview
This position is focused on creating a polished and memorable beverage experience for guests, not just preparing drinks. The role combines beverage preparation with attentive guest interaction, ownership of the bar area, and a strong service mindset. The bar team is expected to stay aware of emerging drink trends, local favorites, and changing guest preferences while maintaining a flawless presentation and smooth operation of the space.
What the role involves
- Deliver warm, attentive service while acting as a host for the bar area.
- Prepare beverages with consistency, quality, and attention to detail.
- Keep the bar area organized, functional, and visually polished.
- Build positive relationships with hotel colleagues and people in the local community to better anticipate guest needs.
- Respond to guest requests and handle day-to-day bar-related duties as needed.
- Monitor details carefully, including guest guidance, drink quality, and handling of money.
- Follow company standards to protect assets, maintain confidentiality, and uphold a professional appearance.
- Carry out reasonable additional duties when required to ensure excellent service and smooth operations.
Working conditions
This is a full-time, non-management role based in Doha, Qatar at The Pearl Island. The position is not remote. The job requires staying active for long periods, including standing, sitting, or walking for extended stretches, and involves frequent physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching overhead and below the knees, and handling objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Qualifications
The preferred education level is a high school diploma or GED equivalent. At least 1 year of related work experience is expected. No supervisory background is needed, and no license or certification is required.
