Role overview
An opportunity is available with a major biopharmaceutical organization in Cork, Ireland, for a Supply Chain Operations Associate on an 18-month contract. The position is based in a modern, high-tech facility and supports work tied to advanced treatments for people living with rare diseases.
The successful candidate will contribute to supply chain and operations activity within a highly regulated environment, working closely with external manufacturing partners and internal cross-functional teams.
Core responsibilities
- Oversee ERP-related activities supporting production work at the CMO site, while tracking and controlling inventory for drug substance, drug product, finished goods, and components where relevant.
- Handle purchase order and invoice processes, including creating POs and coordinating their movement through the workflow.
- Coordinate shipment activity, including form completion and logistics support for inbound and outbound movements, as well as DS/DP, bulk packs, and sample shipments.
- Run the monthly inventory reconciliation cycle for relevant CMOs and act as the main subject matter expert and contact for inventory audits.
Requirements and background
- Significant experience in operations, supply chain, or quality is required.
- A BS/BA degree is expected, ideally in life sciences, business, or supply chain management.
- Working knowledge of the unit operations and processes owned by the team is important.
- The role calls for someone who can support cross-functional teams, help solve immediate issues, and contribute to longer-term performance improvements.
- Experience using CAPA, FMEA, and RCA tools in a highly controlled manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, along with commercial awareness, are necessary.
