Senior Backend Developer - Node JS

TVS Next is hiring a Senior Backend Developer focused on Node.js to help build, improve, and support scalable backend platforms and enterprise applications in cloud-native environments.

What you will do

• Work as part of a high-performing engineering group delivering reliable backend systems and enterprise-grade products.
• Partner with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders on architecture decisions, solution design, and implementation.
• Create, enhance, and support backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Improve service performance by removing bottlenecks, refactoring code, and strengthening system stability.
• Boost database efficiency through better queries, indexing approaches, and optimized data access patterns.
• Develop and maintain API services that are dependable, scalable, and suitable for enterprise use.
• Apply techniques such as caching, concurrency control, performance tuning, and broader system optimization.
• Help increase scalability, resilience, and operational effectiveness across backend systems.
• Coordinate with frontend and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration between systems.
• Assist in production support through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
• Take part in architecture discussions, technical reviews, and code reviews.
• Record optimization methods, implementation details, and technical solutions to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts and engineering practices centered on performance and quality.

What we are looking for

• At least 6 years of experience building backend applications in cloud-based environments.
• Strong command of Node.js and TypeScript, with experience scaling enterprise applications.
• Solid understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, and API design.
• Practical experience with API tuning, concurrency handling, and caching strategies.
• Advanced PostgreSQL optimization skills, including query analysis, index tuning, and query rewriting.
• Good knowledge of database structure, data modeling, and large-scale data processing.
• Strong grasp of core computer science concepts such as algorithms, data structures, system design, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience working on scalable cloud-native solutions and modern backend development practices.
• Strong analytical thinking, debugging ability, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working across engineering teams.
• AWS experience is a plus.
• Understanding of load testing, benchmarking, and scalability testing methods.
• Exposure to monitoring, observability, logging, and performance tracking tools is preferred.
• Basic familiarity with frontend integration and API consumption patterns is desirable.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong motivation to build robust, scalable, high-performance backend systems.
