Security Systems Service Engineer

Role overview

G4S Secure Solutions is hiring a field-based Electronic Security Systems Service Engineer in Dublin. The position centers on keeping integrated security systems performing reliably through planned servicing, preventative maintenance, and prompt fault resolution. You will work independently on customer sites while representing the company in a professional and trusted manner.

The role covers intruder alarms, access control, CCTV, and intercom systems, with an emphasis on high-quality workmanship, compliance, and strong customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned service visits and routine maintenance on electronic security equipment as assigned by the Service Manager.
• Respond quickly to emergency and reactive faults, identify the issue, and restore system functionality as efficiently as possible.
• Take part in the out-of-hours on-call and emergency standby rota.
• Ensure all engineering work meets company quality standards and local security requirements.
• Look after the assigned company vehicle, including cleanliness, condition, and overall organisation.
• Track and control vehicle stock, tools, and equipment accurately to support strong first-time fix performance.
• Work in line with environmental practices by reducing waste and limiting unnecessary material use.
• Communicate effectively with customer contacts, site managers, and electrical contractors.
• Maintain a courteous, professional presence while representing the business on-site.
• Follow health, safety, and risk assessment procedures without compromise.
• Handle internal and external communication promptly and within expected timeframes.

Candidate profile

The company is looking for a self-driven engineer who can work with a high level of independence and maintain excellent standards across a busy field service environment.

• You must be able to provide a continuous 5-year checkable work or education history for vetting purposes.
• You need unrestricted permission to work full-time in the Republic of Ireland.
• Experience should include installation, servicing, and integration of intruder alarms, access control, CCTV, and intercom systems.
• You should understand current Irish and European standards for electronic security systems, including SR 40 and EN 50131.
• Strong planning, prioritisation, and time management skills are essential for meeting deadlines and delivering quality work.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required, along with strong communication and interpersonal ability.
• A full, clean Irish or EU driving licence is mandatory.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is €54,877 to €56,865 per year.

This is a field-based role in Dublin, with work carried out on customer sites and across the surrounding area. The position involves autonomy, reactive service work, and participation in a support rota outside normal working hours.
