Role overview
The Research Analyst role focuses on turning raw qualitative and quantitative information into practical insights that support business decisions, planning, and process improvements. The position helps the organization identify patterns, assess opportunities, and address complex business questions through structured research.
What you will do
- Gather information from a range of sources, including industry publications, market intelligence, financial data, surveys, interviews, and internal systems.
- Sort, review, and interpret data to uncover trends, relationships, and useful findings that align with business goals.
- Prepare reports, brief summaries, dashboards, and presentation materials for internal stakeholders.
- Plan research approaches, define how data should be collected, and make sure the information used is consistent, reliable, and accurate.
- Carry out benchmarking, competitor reviews, market scans, and trend studies to support strategic work and business planning.
- Track industry shifts, economic developments, and competitor moves so research output stays current and relevant.
- Work closely with teams across strategy, marketing, operations, finance, and product to support projects and decision-making.
- Support data checks, validation, and ongoing improvements to research methods and tools.
- Assist with forecasting, performance tracking, and scenario analysis when needed.
- Present findings in a simple, structured way for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Skills and qualifications
The ideal candidate should bring strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, and close attention to detail. You should be comfortable handling complex information, spotting trends, and turning them into clear recommendations.
Useful knowledge includes research methods, data analysis techniques, basic statistics, and both qualitative and quantitative research approaches. Experience with spreadsheets, reporting tools, data visualization platforms, databases, research tools, and business intelligence software is helpful.
Strong writing and speaking skills are important, along with the ability to create reports, presentations, and concise summaries. You should also be able to manage multiple tasks, work with large datasets, check data integrity, and meet deadlines in a busy environment. Prior exposure to market research, competitive analysis, or benchmarking will be an advantage.
