Production Supervisor

Overview

Our client is an established food manufacturer in Ireland that is seeking a Production Supervisor for its Westmeath operation. In this role, you will report into senior leadership and take ownership of guiding, motivating, and energising your team so production targets and KPIs are consistently achieved.

Because this position is heavily focused on people leadership, proven experience in managing a team and improving performance is a key requirement.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong working relationships with the main stakeholders involved in production.
• Create practical development plans for team leaders and make sure they are followed through.
• Oversee staff break patterns, holiday scheduling, performance, and absenteeism.
• Ensure every team member completes required statutory training, including on-the-job skills training on the production floor.
• Keep staffing levels at the right capacity and work with Human Resources so new employees have a positive experience throughout their employment journey.
• Promote a strong safety culture and support the creation of a secure working environment for all colleagues.
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, quality, and hygiene, including compliance with 7s requirements.
• Manage production performance across plan achievement, yield, productivity, and overall efficiency.

Requirements

• A degree in Food Science, Agricultural Science, or another related subject.
• Strong enthusiasm for food and for working with people.
• Excellent communication ability and a solid command of English.
• Previous supervisory experience, ideally leading a sizable team.
• Background in FMCG or food manufacturing environments.
