Job overview

This role is responsible for organizing, sequencing, and overseeing both planned and unplanned maintenance work so the airline fleet, as well as aircraft operated for third parties, remains continuously airworthy. The position also involves building maintenance plans for the near term and the longer horizon in coordination with the line manager and relevant internal teams.

The job supports high standards of safety, cost control, and dispatch reliability across the assigned fleet and contracted aircraft by coordinating maintenance activities effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Build short-range and long-range maintenance plans for the assigned fleet using the Approved Maintenance Program and other documents issued by CAMO engineering services.
  • Update maintenance forecasts in the company MRO system (AMOS) within required timelines and in a cost-conscious manner.
  • Prepare work packages, preload packs, Gantt charts, and other planning support material needed to execute checks.
  • Create planned and unplanned work packages for line maintenance, base maintenance, workshops, and third-party maintenance, while coordinating with all responsible stakeholders and following company manual procedures.
  • Work with the relevant stakeholders to develop the aircraft maintenance capacity plan.
  • Handle scheduled and unscheduled maintenance planning while considering calendar time, flight hours, cycles, cost, business priorities, overlaps, unexpected events, and emergencies.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual reports comparing forecasted man-hours against actual man-hours consumed.
  • Share feedback with CAMO engineering services to help improve maintenance-related documents and processes.
  • Coordinate with Engineering Procurement to ensure tools, spare parts, and components are available before any maintenance activity is scheduled.
  • Submit maintenance event feedback within the timeframe defined in company procedures.
  • Provide detailed post-check analysis after completion of major checks, including A checks.
  • Track task completion against engineers’ check requests in line with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Plan compliance actions for airworthiness directives, non-mandatory service bulletins, and modifications issued by CAMO engineering.
  • Schedule all defects in coordination with the MCC department.
  • Support aircraft lease and sublease activities by carrying out technical evaluations of aircraft.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure smooth processing in line with agreed terms and approved regulations.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and schedule short-term maintenance needs while working closely with line maintenance and MCC teams.
  • Coordinate, prepare, plan, and validate third-party maintenance work packages.

Qualifications and experience

A university degree in Aircraft Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent field is required. A Project Management certificate is preferred, or relevant hands-on experience may be accepted instead. Training or certifications in Cost Control, Compliance, Budgeting, and Quality Assurance are considered an advantage and may be mandatory for some cases.

The candidate should be comfortable using technology platforms and tools, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and MRO systems. Excellent written and spoken communication skills are needed for reporting and presentations. Fluency in English is required.

Applicants should have at least 5 years of experience in the aviation industry, including 4 years in a Planning Engineer role or a similar position. Experience with Airbus A320 aircraft is preferred. The role requires familiarity with aircraft planning systems, procedures, and documentation such as MPD, MRB, and AMP, as well as CAMO-related regulations and their connection to the aircraft maintenance program.

Knowledge of CAR-M, CAR-145, PART 21, and relevant company manuals such as TPM is expected. Familiarity with aircraft systems and components, as well as the rules and regulations of the relevant civil aviation authority regarding engineering maintenance, policies, procedures, manuals, and licensing, is also needed. A working understanding of EASA Part 145, Part 21, and Subpart M requirements is required.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in working with engineers and technicians in a dynamic environment with heavy workloads and ad hoc scenarios. Strong time management, exposure to airline flight operations and standard regulations, and awareness of quality assurance, safety, and audit practices are important. The role also requires high accuracy, strong attention to detail, cost awareness, problem-solving ability, decision-making skills, and the ability to contribute to business strategy and KPI delivery.

Additional information

Airline aircraft maintenance planning experience is central to this role, and direct familiarity with Airbus A320 operations will be advantageous.
