About Grove Collaborative
Grove Collaborative is a consumer products company centered on sustainability. The company develops household and personal care essentials that aim to be effective, well-designed, and better for people and the planet. It is a certified B Corp, plastic-neutral, and focused on improving the CPG industry.
Role Overview
In this position, you will help ensure the right products are available at the right time, in the right location, and in the right quantities across the site assortment. The role calls for strong analytical thinking and real enthusiasm for AI-enabled planning tools. Grove is looking for someone who does more than support automation; the ideal person actively tests new technology, uses judgment to validate model outputs, and knows when human intervention will produce better results.
You will be responsible for replenishment planning across a large-SKU direct-to-consumer assortment and will manage inventory across two fulfillment centers in a fast-paced eCommerce setting. Experience handling complex inventories, working with many vendors, and using modern planning platforms and AI tools at scale is especially relevant.
Key Responsibilities
- Use sales forecasts to drive replenishment purchases that support in-stock goals, inventory turns, and sales performance across a broad product assortment.
- Apply AI-based forecasting tools to turn demand signals into actionable ordering decisions, while stepping in manually when the model needs adjustment.
- Maintain supplier settings and replenishment rules in planning and ERP systems for your vendor portfolio.
- Review forecast anomalies and improve forecast accuracy and bias through data-backed changes.
- Track inventory performance metrics and take corrective action when needed.
- Create and update reports in Looker, Excel, and AI-supported analytics tools that inform next steps, not just historical results.
- Work with Merchandising and Marketing to reduce aged inventory.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure replenishment orders and forecast commitments are fulfilled.
- Partner with Billing and Accounting to resolve invoice and receiving mismatches.
- Monitor purchase orders from submission through EDI confirmation and final receipt at fulfillment centers.
- Recommend inventory transfers between warehouse locations based on demand patterns and fulfillment data.
- Improve planning systems, data quality, and processes continuously.
- Identify and test automation opportunities such as anomaly detection, automated reorder logic, and scenario modeling, then share successful approaches with the broader team.
Candidate Profile
The role is best suited to a planner with 4 to 6 years of experience in inventory planning and procurement within a DTC or digitally native eCommerce business, especially where the assortment is large and fast-moving. You should be genuinely interested in new planning technologies and comfortable using AI in day-to-day inventory workflows. Strong Excel skills are required, and experience with Looker or a similar BI tool is highly desirable. Success in this role is measured through in-stock rate, inventory turns, weeks of supply, forecast accuracy, and reduction of aged stock. Clear communication with Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, and Operations is essential, along with a self-directed approach and a mindset of continual improvement.
Additional Qualifications That Would Help
- Experience overseeing inventory across multiple warehouses or fulfillment centers.
- Exposure to EDI processes and ERP systems in a physical goods environment.
- Experience using AI-assisted scenario planning or automated exception handling at scale.
- A personal connection to sustainability or the better-for-you product space.
Benefits and Perks
- This is a full-time, exempt, remote role for candidates located in California, Maine, Pennsylvania, Nevada, North Carolina, Texas, Colorado, Washington, Illinois, New York, Missouri, or Massachusetts.
- Medical, vision, and dental coverage.
- Equity participation.
- Flexible paid time off focused on outcomes rather than preset limits.
- Free VIP membership and a 50% employee discount.
- The opportunity to work for a mission-driven company that invests in planet-positive initiatives.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is USD 75,000 to 90,000 annually. Pay may vary based on location and experience, and the top end of the range is intended for highly experienced candidates in higher-cost markets. This role also qualifies for an annual incentive target and equity.
Equal Opportunity and Accommodation
The company is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. Candidates from all backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives are encouraged to apply. Reasonable accommodation is available during the application process, interviews, pre-employment testing, and other parts of the hiring process.
