Role overview
The Imaging Support Worker team plays a vital role within Radiology. In this post, you will help move patients safely from the wards to the Radiology Department at York Hospital, and you will also support patient care in the department and at the Community Diagnostic Centres in Askham Bar and Selby.
What you will do
- Transport patients safely to Radiology and support their journey through the department.
- Provide care and practical assistance to patients attending the Community Diagnostic Centres at Askham Bar and Selby.
- Work alongside clinical staff in examination rooms, including helping with patient movement, chaperoning and supervision.
- Assist patients with changing before and after examinations.
- Support personal care needs such as hygiene, toilet assistance, and general comfort.
- Keep changing rooms and waiting areas clean, orderly and ready for use at all times.
What the team is looking for
You should be an effective communicator with experience dealing with members of the public. The role calls for someone who is adaptable, well organised, team-oriented, energetic, keen to learn, and able to contribute positively to a busy clinical environment.

Interview arrangement
Interviews for this post will take place in person only at one of the Trust's sites. Remote interviews will not be arranged.
