Role overview
Join a hands-on Electrical Supervisor position in Queenstown where you will lead crews, stay close to the tools, and contribute to a broad range of commercial and industrial electrical projects. Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for guiding electrical teams and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The role also involves supporting technical site activities and working closely with project stakeholders.
- Direct and support electrical crews to maintain strong workmanship and productivity
- Manage day-to-day site activity and check subcontractor performance
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair work in commercial and industrial electrical systems
- Assist with fault diagnosis and troubleshooting on more complex systems
- Support Project and Contract Managers with paperwork such as contracts, claims, and insurance matters
- Help prepare and track monthly progress claims
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships while resolving issues promptly
- Plan labour, tools, and other resources to meet project schedules and delivery goals
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members while encouraging a constructive team environment
- Promote Zero Harm, environmental care, and quality standards across all work
- Ensure all tasks meet New Zealand safety, compliance, and quality requirements
Skills and experience needed
- Current EWRB practising licence as an Electrician (E) or Electrical Engineer (EE)
- Background in a supervisory or leading hand position, or readiness to move into one
- Solid experience in industrial, mechanical, or commercial electrical environments
- PLC and BMS wiring experience is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to lead, monitor, and develop teams
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability
- Working knowledge of health and safety practices, including working at heights as an advantage
- Clear communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to organise priorities and manage workloads effectively
- Valid New Zealand driver licence
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Comfortable using computer systems for reporting and job tracking
