Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for guiding electrical teams and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The role also involves supporting technical site activities and working closely with project stakeholders.

• Direct and support electrical crews to maintain strong workmanship and productivity
• Manage day-to-day site activity and check subcontractor performance
• Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair work in commercial and industrial electrical systems
• Assist with fault diagnosis and troubleshooting on more complex systems
• Support Project and Contract Managers with paperwork such as contracts, claims, and insurance matters
• Help prepare and track monthly progress claims
• Develop and maintain positive client relationships while resolving issues promptly
• Plan labour, tools, and other resources to meet project schedules and delivery goals
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members while encouraging a constructive team environment
• Promote Zero Harm, environmental care, and quality standards across all work
• Ensure all tasks meet New Zealand safety, compliance, and quality requirements

Skills and experience needed

• Current EWRB practising licence as an Electrician (E) or Electrical Engineer (EE)
• Background in a supervisory or leading hand position, or readiness to move into one
• Solid experience in industrial, mechanical, or commercial electrical environments
• PLC and BMS wiring experience is highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to lead, monitor, and develop teams
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability
• Working knowledge of health and safety practices, including working at heights as an advantage
• Clear communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to organise priorities and manage workloads effectively
• Valid New Zealand driver licence
• Willingness to travel occasionally
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
• Comfortable using computer systems for reporting and job tracking
