Role overview

Boots UK is seeking a Dispenser to join the pharmacy team in one of its stores in Tenterden, England. In this in-store healthcare role, you will work alongside the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to help deliver pharmacy services safely and efficiently.

Your day-to-day work will involve speaking with patients, understanding their needs, dispensing prescriptions, and supporting the safe sale of medicines. You will also use your healthcare knowledge to guide customers so they can make informed choices about their health and wellbeing.

This position is based in a UK store and is not open to remote working. Applications from candidates outside the UK will only be considered if relevant UK qualifications and proof of the right to work can be provided.

Key responsibilities

• Handle prescription dispensing tasks, including ordering medicines, labelling, preparing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions while maintaining safe supply processes.
• Work with store healthcare colleagues to support the delivery and administration of pharmacy services.
• Offer patients practical advice about medicines and escalate questions to the pharmacist when needed.
• Follow standard operating procedures to ensure prescriptions are dispensed safely and lawfully.
• Stay current with in-store changes, new systems, and operational processes.
• Help patients manage repeat prescriptions effectively and support better adherence while reducing medicine waste.

Training and development

You will receive regular updates and training to strengthen your healthcare knowledge. The role also offers progression opportunities, including routes into Pharmacy Technician training or development within the store leadership team.

Requirements

• You should have completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2, or an equivalent qualification, or be studying towards one while having completed the first year of an MPharm degree.
• You must have a current and valid right to work in the UK.
• This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.

Preferred experience

• Experience working in a community pharmacy setting would be an advantage.
