Bar Waitress

Role overview

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Bar Waitress in Doha, Qatar to help create memorable guest experiences. The right candidate will be warm, attentive, and comfortable working in a busy bar while upholding strong hospitality standards.

This position focuses on delivering efficient, polished, and personalized service so guests enjoy a welcoming atmosphere throughout their visit.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests courteously and serve them in a professional, friendly way.
• Accurately take food and drink orders and ensure timely delivery.
• Prepare and serve beverages when needed in line with bar procedures.
• Anticipate guest needs to support a smooth and enjoyable experience.
• Keep the bar and surrounding service areas clean, tidy, and well organized.
• Work closely with bar and kitchen teams to maintain efficient service.
• Respond quickly and professionally to guest questions, requests, and concerns.
• Support beverage promotion and upselling of specials where suitable.
• Consistently follow hygiene, safety, and service requirements.

What the role requires

• A diploma or certificate in hospitality or a related field is preferred, though relevant food and beverage experience may also be considered.
• Previous experience in five-star or luxury hotels is strongly preferred, especially in bar service, beverage handling, or guest-facing hospitality roles.
• Strong English communication skills are needed; additional languages are an advantage.
• WSET certification is helpful but not essential.
• Good knowledge of wines and beverage service is required.
• Basic understanding of bar operations and drink handling is expected.
• A friendly, outgoing personality with strong customer service ability is important.
• The ability to perform well under pressure in a busy environment is necessary.
• You should be a flexible team player with strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.
