Role overview

For the earliest possible start, Deutsche Bahn is hiring a Weichenwärter:in (w/m/d) for DB InfraGO AG. The position is available at one of the following locations: Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or Zeitz.

What you will do

• Safely and on time manage shunting movements on a mechanical signal box at the Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or Zeitz marshalling yard.
• Set up the full route for train departures, including points, track alignment, and signals, to ensure a safe departure.
• Stay in contact with colleagues at adjacent signal boxes, locomotive drivers, and control centers.
• Issue, receive, and relay operational messages as well as timetable-related information.
• Monitor the track infrastructure and arrange track closures when disruptions occur.

What you should bring

• You are already working as a Weichenwärter:in and have strong knowledge of, and practical experience with, mechanical interlocking technology, or you are prepared to learn it.
• You work with a strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and technical accuracy, especially in stressful situations, and you are punctual.
• Fitness for operational service as a Weichenwärter:in is required.
• You are willing to work shifts, including night, weekend, and public holiday duties.
