Wares Processor

Role overview

The Wares Processor is responsible for preparing household goods and other hard-line merchandise for the sales floor in a prompt and accurate manner. This role focuses on sorting, checking, pricing, and organizing items so they are ready for display and sale.

Responsibilities

• Process and price wares, household items, and other hard-line products accurately and on schedule for the sales floor.
• Sort and separate buggies of hard goods, inspect items for defects, and remove merchandise that cannot be sold following standard procedures.
• Keep the work area stocked and organized in line with 5S expectations.
• Recognize premium labels, collectible items, and products that may qualify for special pricing.
• Use the pricing system to distinguish among merchandise graded as fair, good, or great.
• Operate comfortably on a computer as part of the job duties.
• Be able to lift heavy totes and handle physical warehouse-style tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Basic math ability is needed.
• Strong communication skills are required.
• Good interpersonal skills are expected.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to work at least 8 hours during a scheduled workday.
• Must be available for a flexible rotating schedule, including evenings and weekends as assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants should have the ability to work independently and stay attentive to item condition, pricing differences, and workstation organization. Comfort using a computer and following established sorting and pricing procedures is important for success in this role.
