About Becoming You Labs
Becoming You Labs is a technology company focused on helping people move through life with greater clarity, alignment, and direction. Rather than relying on quick-fix advice or vague inspiration, the company creates carefully designed assessments and digital products that support people at major turning points such as career changes, questions of identity, and the disconnect between who someone is and how they are actually living.
The company’s approach is built around the idea that purpose sits where three things meet: personal values, natural aptitudes, and interests that are both energizing and financially practical.
Becoming You Labs is a rapidly expanding, cash-flow-positive business with more than 250,000 users, eight live and digital products already in market, and additional assessments and companion workbooks scheduled for launch in 2026. Its audience includes both individuals seeking purpose and professionals such as coaches, educators, therapists, and advisors.
The team combines the mindset of a think tank with the speed of a startup, and it is committed to producing meaningful work for the people it serves.
Role Overview
This is an on-site, full-time position based in New York City, with a five-day in-person workweek. The Videographer & Editor will manage the full production process, including filming live events and interviews as well as delivering finished edits for YouTube, social channels, and the course library. Strategy is handled by the wider team; this role is expected to come prepared, execute consistently at a high standard, and deliver content that is ready for publication. The position reports to the CMO.
Key Responsibilities
- Film live events such as workshops, speaking engagements, and in-person intensives.
- Record interviews with Suzy Welch and other contributors for use across different platforms.
- Produce both long-form and short-form edits, including YouTube content, social media clips, reels, course assets, and promotional videos.
- Keep the growing media archive structured and well maintained so files can be easily located and reused.
- Bring and manage personal equipment, and communicate upcoming gear needs ahead of time.
- Work closely with social and content stakeholders to deliver assets on schedule and to brief.
- Maintain strong and consistent standards for image quality and audio across all final outputs.
Experience and Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in videography, editing, or a mix of both.
- Solid production skills, including framing, lighting, sound capture, and quick adjustment in live shooting situations.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro; experience with After Effects or DaVinci Resolve would be an advantage.
- Ability to edit for both extended-form content and short-form platforms such as Reels, TikTok, and Shorts.
- Comfort with independent work and juggling several projects simultaneously.
- A portfolio that shows capability across both filming and post-production.
- Must be based in New York City and able to attend on-site shoots when required.
Additional Information
