Role overview
This fixed-term, full-time Trainer position is based in Auckland and sits within the Operations and Service Delivery (OSD) Learning Delivery team. The role focuses on helping staff succeed through consistently delivered learning solutions that align with best practice and national standards.
What you will do
- Deliver approved operational learning sessions for groups, individuals, and just-in-time support in line with agreed standards and learning pathways for OSD teams.
- Provide learning support through in-person, virtual, and digital channels.
- Design and maintain learning spaces that support adult learning and participation.
- Carry out evaluation work during and after training sessions to assess effectiveness.
- Help create learning materials and support tools for managers and staff.
- Contribute to the design of training structures, policies, processes, and workplace support systems that improve facilitation outcomes.
- Review data and prepare reports to support training decisions and continuous improvement.
How you will work
You will work closely with learning designers and Technical Coaches to keep learning products aligned, improve the delivery experience, and ensure smooth support for learners. Some travel will be part of the role.
Skills and experience needed
The ideal candidate is a confident facilitator and trainer who can make a genuine difference to the people they support. You should bring a curious mindset, enjoy solving problems in practical ways, and be comfortable working independently while managing shifting priorities.
- A relevant tertiary qualification, or an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, and experience, along with a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
- Proven background in designing and delivering operational training and facilitation in a similar setting.
- Experience supporting managers and employees with workplace learning and on-the-job development.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for the Ministry of Justice.

Salary
