SS Electrical Engineer

Role Overview

This position focuses on end-to-end execution support for substation electrical projects at site. The role involves coordinating day-to-day construction and commissioning activities, tracking progress, ensuring adherence to technical and contractual requirements, and maintaining strong control over quality, safety, and statutory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee site-level management for substation projects, including monitoring progress, coordinating execution, planning work, and supervising project activities.
• Prepare electrical bills and project reports, and keep material reconciliation records up to date.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, safety, and quality requirements at the site.
• Deploy quality control systems and implement QC measures during project execution.
• Inspect supplied materials and workmanship to confirm they meet expected standards.
• Prepare material receipt records and handover documentation.
• Track quality-related activities during erection, pre-commissioning, and commissioning in coordination with the site-in-charge, client, and consultant.
• Maintain daily and monthly project progress reports.
• Review drawings against contract terms and technical specifications.
• Raise and process running account bills for both the company and contractors on a monthly basis.
• Verify cable schedules against approved drawings.
• Check and certify electrical erection and commissioning work in line with the relevant FQP.
• Plan and supervise daily site operations.
• Witness tests on electrical equipment and certify the associated test reports.
• Coordinate with the main EPC contractor, electrical inspectors, PowerGrid, and regional load dispatch centers for system interfacing and substation charging.

Qualifications and Experience

The role requires a BE/B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering. Candidates should have 5 to 12 years of experience in execution of substation electrical works. Practical knowledge of substation execution and commissioning, IS/IEC codes, and AutoCAD is expected.
