Role overview
Volvo Group is looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to strengthen its Supply Network Quality function in Bengaluru. The role is centered on improving the quality of purchased parts and working closely with external supply partners to ensure they meet Volvo Group’s design and quality expectations. What the job involves
- Oversee a portfolio of axle and transmission component suppliers and take end-to-end ownership of part quality.
- Participate early in supplier selection activities.
- Make sure APQP activities are carried out as planned, on schedule, and with identified risks reduced.
- Review and drive APQP outputs, while approving PPAP submissions and tooling-related deliverables.
- Protect launch readiness by securing capacity and ramp-up plans and by putting firewall and pre-launch controls in place for SOP.
- Handle quality issues raised by Volvo plants by ensuring fast containment and the implementation of corrective, preventive, and permanent actions.
- Lead sustainability and digitalization improvement efforts within SNQ.
- Assess suppliers and drive continuous improvement across the network.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Automobile Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8 to 15 years of relevant supplier quality experience, preferably from the automotive industry.
- Solid technical understanding of axles, transmission, and powertrain components, along with manufacturing knowledge.
- Strong focus on continuous improvement.
- Practical problem-solving mindset with a solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.
- Good networking and collaboration abilities.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Comfort with frequent travel to supplier locations.
