Senior Node JS Developer

Role Overview

TVS Next is looking for an experienced Node.js developer to strengthen its engineering team in Chennai. The role focuses on developing scalable backend platforms, APIs, and enterprise-ready software that supports modern digital products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and support backend services built with Node.js and Express.js.
• Design and implement scalable REST APIs and microservices for contemporary applications.
• Connect applications with databases, external services, and internal enterprise systems.
• Maintain strong standards for performance, reliability, scalability, and security across backend solutions.
• Produce clean, reusable, efficient, and maintainable code aligned with engineering best practices.
• Investigate production issues and improve backend efficiency where needed.
• Work closely with frontend teams, DevOps, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Take part in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions.
• Support deployment, observability, and ongoing optimization efforts.

Experience and Technical Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in application development.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on work with Node.js and Express.js.
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL.
• Good working knowledge of AWS.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, API protection, and integration approaches.
• Familiarity with asynchronous programming and event-driven system design.
• Experience using Git and Agile ways of working.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization tools such as JWT and OAuth.
• Strong analytical thinking, debugging ability, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
• Microservices experience is an advantage.
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is a plus.
