Role Overview
Walaris is hiring a Quality Manager for its Nuremberg office, with the role to begin as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Create, roll out, and keep improving a Quality Management System aimed at certification to ISO 9001 and AQAP 2210.
- Define, document, and refine quality policies, processes, and standards across the organization, while reviewing current workflows to find improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and carry out internal audits and assist with external audits during the certification journey.
- Make sure company practices meet applicable standards, legal and regulatory obligations, and customer-specific expectations, especially in the defense space.
- Work closely with engineering, project management, and leadership teams to embed quality requirements across all functions.
- Educate employees and build awareness around quality topics and best practices.
- Maintain and control documentation within the QMS.
- Assist with supplier assessment and broader quality assurance tasks.
Requirements
- A degree in engineering, computer science, quality management, or an equivalent qualification, along with several years of experience in quality management, preferably in a software business or a regulated sector such as defense or aerospace.
- Hands-on experience building and implementing a QMS, ideally with successful ISO 9001 and AQAP 2210 certification exposure.
- Solid understanding of process management, continuous improvement methods, and both internal and external audit procedures.
- Comfort using standard documentation and process management tools.
- Exposure to software development methods such as Agile or V-model is an advantage.
- A strong self-starter mindset and the ability to operate independently in a small-company setting.
- Fluency in English and strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.
