Role Summary
The Project Coordinator will lead the technical coordination of residential solar PV projects from the point the design is finalized until commissioning and final handover. The role focuses on aligning engineering standards, project timelines, and regulatory obligations while keeping communication flowing between customers, internal departments, and site teams.
Technical Responsibilities
- Organize and manage residential solar project activity from design completion through commissioning and handover.
- Check technical drawings, system layouts, single-line diagrams, and bill of quantities together with engineering teams.
- Carry out site assessments to verify structural suitability, electrical readiness, shading conditions, and installation limitations.
- Assist with system sizing, equipment choices, and configuration checks to ensure they match client needs and regulatory rules.
- Arrange installation timelines and make sure work follows the approved technical scope.
- Track installation quality on site, safety compliance, and alignment with engineering requirements.
- Handle technical issues that arise during installation and commissioning, including troubleshooting and resolution.
- Supervise inverter setup, grid synchronization, and performance verification activities.
- Work with authorities and utility providers on approvals, inspections, and grid-connection procedures.
- Keep complete records of as-built drawings, commissioning documentation, and compliance files.
- Support operations and maintenance planning, including system performance checks and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with procurement to confirm equipment compatibility and availability.
- Work with sales and business development teams to confirm technical feasibility before a project is closed.
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a similar discipline is expected. The role calls for 3 to 5+ years of experience in solar PV project coordination, installation, or technical operations, with residential project experience preferred.
Technical and Core Competencies
- Solid knowledge of solar PV systems, components, and installation methods.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, and technical layouts accurately.
- Understanding of grid-connected residential solar standards and authority requirements.
- Working knowledge of inverter configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Basic awareness of structural and electrical safety compliance.
- Experience using project tracking tools and documentation systems.
- Strong coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Clear communication and negotiation skills for working with different stakeholders.
- High attention to technical detail and quality.
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working across engineering, procurement, and site teams.
Preferred Background
- Prior experience with local authority approvals and inspections.
- Familiarity with operations and maintenance practices for solar systems.
- Exposure to CRM or project management software.
- Experience in site supervision or field coordination.
