Operational Lead

Role overview

This position is responsible for running day-to-day warehouse activities and making sure goods are received, stored, handled, and shipped efficiently. The role is centered on operational quality, stock accuracy, timely order execution, and compliance with safety and quality requirements.

Core responsibilities

• Direct all warehouse workflows from inbound receiving and put-away through storage, picking, packing, and outbound dispatch.
• Maintain precise inventory control, reconcile stock regularly, and ensure materials are stored correctly.
• Manage internal goods movement to improve space use and overall workflow efficiency.
• Supervise loading and unloading of vehicles while following schedules and safety rules.
• Track operational performance indicators such as turnaround time, order accuracy, and productivity, and lead improvement efforts.
• Ensure adherence to safety norms, company procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Spot opportunities to streamline processes, lower costs, and improve service delivery.

People leadership

• Guide warehouse associates through task assignment, shift planning, and performance tracking.
• Handle team-related activities including hiring, training, coaching, performance reviews, and development.
• Create a disciplined, safe, and high-performing workplace.
• Support capability development and succession planning within the team.

Planning and coordination

• Convert customer and business needs into practical warehouse execution plans.
• Assist with short- and medium-term planning for staffing and resource allocation.
• Work closely with internal functions such as transportation, procurement, and customer service.
• Resolve operational issues proactively and escalate complex matters when necessary.

Skills and experience

The role calls for strong knowledge of warehouse and supply chain operations, hands-on experience leading teams, and familiarity with warehouse management systems and standard operating procedures. The ideal candidate should be confident in problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and cross-functional coordination.

Experience scope

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in warehouse or supply chain operations is required, along with demonstrated leadership capability. The role involves moderate autonomy and responsibility for routine as well as moderately complex operational issues.
