About the Role
The Ritz-Carlton, Doha is seeking a Hygiene Supervisor to support food safety and sanitation operations at its luxury resort in West Bay Lagoon, Doha. The property is a large five-star destination with rooms and suites, restaurants, spa and fitness facilities, pools, a private beach, a club lounge, and event spaces. The role is part of the Food and Beverage & Culinary function and is a non-management, full-time position based onsite.
The resort emphasizes luxury service standards, guest care, and a strong team culture. This role contributes to maintaining the brand’s Gold Standards while helping ensure safe, compliant, and well-managed food hygiene practices across operations.
Key Responsibilities
You will oversee hygiene compliance and food safety processes, support training for new hires and trainees, and help identify and reduce risks in food operations. The position also involves advising on product labeling requirements to meet government standards and partnering with management on people-related tasks such as hiring, scheduling, coaching, evaluating, counseling, and motivating employees.
Role Expectations
- Monitor and coordinate operations so they remain aligned with hygiene and food safety standards.
- Guide staff on safe food handling and deliver hygiene training to new joiners and trainees.
- Spot risk areas in food operations and take corrective action before issues escalate.
- Provide technical guidance on labeling to support regulatory compliance.
- Support managers with hiring, scheduling, training, performance review, discipline, and employee motivation.
- Follow company safety, security, and reporting procedures, including incident and maintenance escalation.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential and proprietary information.
- Respond to guest needs and communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships and contribute to team goals and quality standards.
- Carry out physical duties such as standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items up to 25 pounds.
- Complete other duties assigned by supervisors as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Environmental Health or Culinary is preferred. The ideal candidate should bring 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity. No license or certification is required.
