What the role involves
As part of the maintenance team, you will manage service requests, coordinate work orders, and help ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. The job also includes working with property owners and carrying out a range of practical handywork assignments.
Typical duties can include basic installations, equipment handling, and other maintenance-related tasks that support property operations. Accuracy, speed, and professional follow-through are important in this position.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate everyday maintenance activity and keep work orders moving efficiently.
- Carry out first-look inspections, photograph the issue, and upload the images to the relevant work order.
- Deliver and fit RYPM-specific items such as fire extinguishers, lock boxes, and real estate signs.
- Create new work orders when needed and prepare detailed findings for the Maintenance Department.
- Handle a range of practical tasks including key duplication, door closer fitting, lock replacement, TV mounting, and related jobs.
Requirements
- High School diploma or an equivalent credential.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a comparable maintenance or handyworker position.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a working vehicle.
- Vehicle must be able to carry at least a 4' x 4' sheet of plywood.
- Comfortable using hand tools and power equipment.
- Strong organisational skills and clear communication ability.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Owns an iPhone for work-related communication.
- Detail-focused with strong troubleshooting ability.
