Role overview
Ventia, working alongside the Australian Defence Force, is looking for an experienced Guest Services Agent to help manage on-base accommodation services for Defence personnel at RAAF Tindal in Katherine, Northern Territory.

About the role
This position is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key part in creating a warm, professional arrival-to-departure experience. The role involves handling enquiries, coordinating reservations, managing check-ins and check-outs, maintaining accurate records, organising inspections, and ensuring accommodation is presented to a high standard.
Key duties
- Coordinate room reservations and allocations for personnel arriving at or transiting through the base
- Maintain secure control of keys, including arrivals, departures, and storage
- Work with cleaning and maintenance teams, and respond to service requests
- Maintain detailed records such as occupancy figures, rank-based room reports, logbooks, inventory, and condition inspections
- Partner with leadership to match accommodation with rank and availability
- Carry out room quality checks to confirm rooms are functional and guest-ready
- Receive deliveries, use booking-related IT systems, and support visitors and tradespeople
About you
You should have at least 1 year of experience in hospitality or accommodation services. A diploma or degree in hospitality management or a related discipline is an advantage. You’ll need strong MS Office ability, sound record-keeping skills, clear communication, and a strong focus on customer service. A respectful and inclusive approach when working with people from diverse backgrounds is also important.
Security and compliance
To be considered, you must be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance. That means you need to be an Australian citizen and willing to complete and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police check.
