Role overview
An established, multi-entity business is looking to appoint a Group Financial Controller in Dublin. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take ownership of the finance function across several operating businesses and contribute to group reporting, internal controls, compliance, and wider finance transformation work.
This is a senior leadership position suited to a commercially aware finance professional who is comfortable working in a complex, fast-moving environment and who enjoys improving systems, reporting quality, and decision-making insight.
What you will be responsible for
- Running the monthly consolidation process and preparing group management accounts for multiple entities, including clear commentary on performance against budget and the prior year.
- Leading the annual budgeting exercise and the quarterly reforecast cycle alongside operational and senior leaders.
- Owning the finance transformation roadmap and improving workflows, systems, and reporting so the function becomes more efficient and insight-driven.
- Building and rolling out a group-wide KPI framework in collaboration with stakeholders to define meaningful financial and operational measures.
- Strengthening financial analysis through dashboards, reporting solutions, and forward-looking commentary.
- Spotting opportunities to use automation and AI in finance, particularly across reconciliations, forecasting, reporting, and transactional processes.
- Improving and tightening financial controls, policies, and procedures across the group.
- Managing, coaching, and developing a finance team covering controllership and shared services.
- Taking responsibility for treasury activities, cash flow management, and banking relationships.
- Supporting the CFO with strategic projects such as systems upgrades, integrations, investment appraisals, and broader business initiatives.
- Leading the year-end audit process and handling relationships with external auditors.
- Overseeing statutory reporting and tax compliance across all group entities.
What the business is looking for
- A fully qualified accountant, preferably ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Substantial experience gained after qualification in a senior finance leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with group consolidations across several legal entities.
- Strong technical accounting capability, with knowledge of FRS 102 and/or IFRS.
- A commercial approach with the confidence to work with and influence senior stakeholders outside finance.
- Strong systems knowledge, ideally with experience in ERP implementation or optimisation.
- Comfort working in a dynamic, multi-site business with strong operational focus.
Why this opportunity stands out
- A senior leadership role with broad exposure to finance, operations, and strategy.
- The chance to shape finance transformation and improve reporting capability.
- A high-impact position with visibility at senior leadership level.
- An opportunity to develop analytics, automation, and AI capability within the finance function.
