Role overview

This remote contractor position is focused on quality leadership for Go-based AI training work. The person in this role will review AI-generated Go code, trainer outputs, and QA checks to make sure they meet the project’s standards for correctness, clarity, and consistency.

You will also help guide contributors, surface recurring issues, maintain supporting documentation, and keep quality expectations aligned across the team. The work supports a fast-growing AI data services organization that produces training data for major AI companies and foundation model teams.

This opportunity is hourly and remote. There is no active project assignment immediately available, but qualified candidates may be contacted first when relevant work opens up through the expert network.

What the role involves

Review Go content for code accuracy, compile-time validity, runtime behavior, concurrency safety, error handling, readability, maintainability, performance, security awareness, test coverage, formatting, instruction adherence, and rubric compliance.
Check AI-generated Go code, debugging help, backend examples, concurrency samples, tests, API implementations, and technical explanations for correctness and clarity.
Identify repeat quality problems, raise important issues, and provide clear written feedback to improve output quality.
Keep trainers and QAs informed about guideline updates, workflow changes, and expectations specific to Go.
Answer questions from trainers and QAs on Go syntax, concurrency, error handling, context, interfaces, testing, performance, security, and rubric interpretation.
Reach out to inactive contributors, encourage reactivation, track follow-ups, and note availability concerns.
Build and update style guides, trackers, FAQs, examples, honeypots, calibration tasks, and onboarding resources.
Organize and run onboarding or training calls to walk contributors through project requirements, workflows, rubrics, and review standards.
Flag unsafe, misleading, non-compiling, race-prone, or non-production-ready Go guidance.
Help improve QA processes so Go training projects can scale more reliably.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate has a strong command of English, can communicate technical feedback clearly, and brings at least 3 years of experience in Go development, backend engineering, cloud services, distributed systems, DevOps tooling, code review, software QA, or technical mentoring.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on software engineering experience is required.

Strong knowledge of Go fundamentals is important, including goroutines, channels, interfaces, structs, methods, slices, maps, pointers, error handling, context, packages/modules, testing, and idiomatic style. Familiarity with tools and workflows such as go test, gofmt, go vet, the race detector, Go modules, HTTP servers, REST APIs, gRPC, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL drivers, GitHub, CI/CD, and cloud-native development is preferred.

Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, engineers, coding mentors, or QAs is strongly preferred. The role also suits people who are highly organized and comfortable working with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, GitHub, and other project management tools.

Background in AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, code QA, or rubric-based code review is a strong advantage.

Selection process

Applicants will go through an AI interview, a domain-specific task, and a recruiter interview.
