Role overview
This position is for an experienced estimator to support a construction-focused holding company that works with aggregate, steel, and concrete materials. The role is centered on building accurate cost, material, labor, and time estimates for construction work, while keeping projects efficient, profitable, and aligned with client expectations.
What you’ll do
- Review blueprints, plans, and related documents to develop estimates for time, labor, materials, and overall project cost.
- Build detailed pricing by completing quantity take-offs and analyzing drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Evaluate how cost-effective products, services, and projects are, while comparing projected costs with actual spend as work progresses.
- Use Tekla and Tekla Structural Designer to support estimating and bid preparation.
- Maintain an organized list of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Work directly with clients, vendors, suppliers, and contractors throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Carry out risk reviews to help guide project execution.
- Prepare reporting and analysis that compares estimated versus actual costs.
- Support proposal development and client-facing presentations.
- Use Microsoft Office tools to produce reports, calculations, and supporting documents.
- Negotiate and administer contracts to balance quality and cost.
- Partner with project managers to control budgets and schedules.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with good interpersonal ability.
- Capability to manage several projects at once and meet deadlines.

- Annual base salary range: $60,000 to $100,000.
