EHS Engineer

Role Overview

Larsen & Toubro is looking for an EHS Engineer to support project-site safety execution in Sharjah. The role focuses on building a safe working environment through planning, inspections, training, audits, drills, and day-to-day monitoring of site activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Put the project-specific EHS plan and HSMP into action at the site.
• Arrange the required PPEs according to site needs.
• Check materials, equipment, and systems used by subcontractors to ensure they meet project standards, and step in when gaps are found.
• Deliver EHS induction training at the start and continue with regular refresher sessions and toolbox talks for workers and staff on site.
• Organize third-party training for critical job roles such as riggers, lifting supervisors, and bar bending operators.
• Carry out mock emergency exercises, including fire drills, and ensure safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and emergency sirens is procured, checked, and maintained.
• Arrange safety signage for the site and keep it visible and in good condition.
• Join weekly site walks with site personnel.
• Complete scheduled health and safety audits and workplace inspections, and close non-conformities without delay.
• Perform periodic risk assessments and recommend suitable control and mitigation measures.
