Role Overview

The Data Engineer role is based in Navi Mumbai, India and is focused on building, optimizing, and supporting data platforms and pipelines in cloud environments. The position is especially suited to someone with strong experience in financial services data work and a solid understanding of modern engineering practices.

Experience & Background

• At least 5 years of hands-on data engineering experience is expected, ideally within financial services such as insurance, investment, or fintech.
• Applicants should have worked with cloud-driven data ecosystems on AWS or Azure.
• Practical knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT architecture, and orchestration of data pipelines is important.
• Exposure to regulatory data handling needs in financial services will be valuable.
• AWS Data Engineer certification will be considered an advantage.

Core Skills

• Cloud data services across AWS, Azure, and Databricks
• Programming and scripting using Python, SQL, JavaScript, XML, and shell scripts
• Distributed processing with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, and Databricks PySpark/Delta Lake
• Infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform and CloudFormation
• Source control and DevOps collaboration through GitHub and GitLab
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, and MySQL
• Monitoring and observability using Datadog
• Understanding of financial data areas including customer, product, transaction, risk, and regulatory datasets
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical business stakeholders
• Awareness of emerging technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and IoT
• Understanding of digital transformation and secure integration of technology into business processes
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, controls, and compliance expectations
• Familiarity with the financial services environment
• Comfort working in Agile delivery teams

Compensation

The offered salary range is INR 10,00,000 to INR 20,00,000 per year.
